Welcome to Onyer Marks Sea Angling Charters’ Website.
Onyer Marks Sea Fishing charters has been operating for over twenty years in south west Scotland, we have three boats, each taking four anglers at 25 Knots. We specialise in Tope, Smoothound and light tackle Pollack fishing and often run species hunt which can produce 20 species in a day. A growing market for us is “Pollack on the fly” which produced fish of 9lb 10oz and 10lb 2 oz for Scottish angler Alex Wylkie. Alex has also had mackerel to 2.5 pounds on the fly. Inside the site you will find galleries of images going back years, as well as information on the species we fish for, tackle required, how to find us etc.
You can also get a day by day account of 2012 catches from April to November on the Skipper’s log or view last year’s catches on my Facebook page here. Clicking on the “older posts” on facebook (bottom of the page) will take you back to, day by day catches and reports from June 2011. By clicking on Like button you will automatically receive the 2012 updates. The Skipper’s Blog will be updated on this site from the end of March.
The Onyer Marks team have just got back from their annual skate trip which produced 6 skate over the magical 200 pound mark. If you fancy joining us on the autumn (October – November) trip then please let me know. Check out the latest trip my Facebook page here
Our summer season starts this weekend; we have had reports of early tope in the bay, These fish are usually found in just thirty foot of water and with very little tide, which means the fish can really motor. Because there is so little tide Carp/spinning rods can be used. This is my favourite fishing of our entire calendar. There are also reports of plenty of Pollack about. With the mackerel being early because of the mild winter it looks like we are in for a cracking May.
